We went to Muir Woods…
I woke up yesterday to a gorgeous day. I had high hopes of catching up on my C++ learning, maybe even publishing the next sum the greater mixtape, but decided they needed to be scrapped in order to take advantage of the day. So I texted my friend Mica and suggested Muir Woods. Neither of us had been, but I knew it wasn’t too far away (turned out to be just over 30 mins).
It was the best decision I’ve made in a very long time.
Not only were the woods gorgeous, we had them almost entirely to ourselves — we went right past the “bridge out” and “trail closed” signs and across a tree trunk laid across a river. After a few hours hiking through our own enchanted forest, we found ourselves back on the “Main Trail” where hundreds of others had followed the rules; it felt touristy by comparison, with paved walks and signs to teach you about the trees you could see but not touch.
At the end of the day, you could not wipe the smile from my face. MORE ADVENTURES!
