Heinz Edelmann, ‘Yellow Submarine’ Artist, Dies at 75
NOOOOOOO! So incredibly sad. I wrote my final paper at Davidson on Yellow Submarine, spending a month and a half attempting to delve into every detail of the movie and provide an analysis in line with one form or another of literary theory, and still there’s more to discover. It’s unbelievable that the whole thing came together in a matter of a few months, from conception to debut (an official script didn’t even exist until after the movie came out). Heinz Edelmann played a huge part, and revolutionized animation in the process (it was pretty much the first attempt to animate humans, for one thing — Disney was the only other player at the time).
